Membership in Fi Iota Alpha is a long-life commitment to the preservation of Latin American culture through intellectual development, personal and professional growth, and a reverence for cultural and social awareness. The origins of Fi Iota Alpha date to the late 19th century when the first Latino student organization, Union Hispano Americano, was established in 1898 in the state of New York.

Chapter Information

The Alpha Omicron (AO) Chapter of Fi Iota Alpha is composed of men from an array of different cultures and ethnicities united by a sense of family and social support. The AO Chapter prides itself on developing a community of future leaders on and off the Texas State University campus. Since its inception in the Fall of 2006, the AO Chapter has maintained a 100 percent graduation rate among its members and continues to be a premier organization for all men of many aspirations.
